NOTICE OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS
July 17, 2017 (6:00 – 8:00 PM)
 
On Monday, July 17, 2013, in accordance with Articles III, V & VI of the Constitution and By-Laws of the Ward 5 Democratic Committee, the Ward 5 Democratic Committee shall hold its Biennial Meeting for the purpose of electing officers.  Per established requirements the following individuals have met the minimum qualifications and were nominated in the order below for the positions indicated:

The election shall be held at UDC Community Campus @ Backus, 5171 South Dakota Avenue NE (Parking in rear) between the hours of 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Voting ends at 8:00 PM.  
 
PARLIAMENTARY RULES:  The election shall be governed by the By-Laws of the Ward 5 Democrats and Robert’s Rules of Order, except as otherwise set forth in the Rules of the Day.  Ward 5 registered Democrats only will be able to vote.  Voter registration will be verified by the DC Board of Elections & Ethics voter rolls.  Voting will be conducted by ballot.  Any candidate listed above who wishes to withdraw their name as a candidate for election must provide written notification no later than 5:00 PM July 10, 2017 to Ward5Dems@aol.com.  The Election shall be decided by a majority of those present and voting.  Proxy voting will not be allowed and voting by absentee ballot shall not be permitted.
Write-Ins shall be permitted.
VOTER ASSISTANCE:  To the extent possible, limited curbside voting will be provided for elderly, disabled, and handicapped voters. (Bus load voting not permitted).
RULES OF THE DAY:  The final rules for conducting the election will be approved (once a Quorum has been established) at a pre-meeting of registered Ward 5 Democrats starting at 6:00 PM followed by one (1) minute introductory statements from all contested candidates present.
ELECTION OFFICIALS:  The election shall be supervised by representatives of the DC Democratic State Committee (DC DSC) Party Organization & Functions Committee (POFC).  No Ward 5 Democrat is permitted to participate as an Election Official.  The votes will be tallied and the results provided immediately following the election.
