Arrest Made in Robbery (Snatch) and Theft Two Offenses in the Fourth District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fourth District announce an arrest has been made in reference to Robbery (Snatch) and Theft Two offenses that occurred in the Fourth District.

Robbery (Snatch): On Sunday, January 12, 2020, at approximately 12:15 pm, the suspect approached the victim, while they were in their vehicle, in the 5600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. The suspect brandished a metal pipe and smashed the window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then took property from the victim and fled the scene. CCN: 20-006-982

 

Robbery (Snatch): On Sunday, January 12, 2020, at approximately 1:08 pm, the suspect approached the victim, while they were in their vehicle, in the 6800 block of Piney Branch Road, Northwest. The suspect brandished a metal pipe and smashed the window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect took property from the victim and fled the scene. CCN: 20-006-995

 

Theft Two: On Sunday, January 12, 2020, at approximately 1:25 pm, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle in the 6900 block of Maple Street, Northwest. The suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 20-007-003

 

Theft Two: On Sunday, January 12, 2020, at approximately 1:35 pm, the suspect forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle in the 7600 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest. Once inside, the suspect took property then fled the scene. CCN: 20-007-015

On Sunday, January 12, 2020, 28 year-old Edward Swails, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Robbery (Snatch) and two counts of Theft Two.
