Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) Offense: 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District announce an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) offense that occurred on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, in the 200 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast.

At approximately 3:43 pm, the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal dispute at the listed location. The suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then fled the scene. The detectives’ investigation revealed that this dispute was amongst parties known to each other.

On Saturday, December 28, 2019, 24 year-old Tyler Phillips, of District Heights, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
