Arrest Made in an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offense: 2300 Block Bladensburg Road, Northeast

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, September 21, 2019, in the 2300 block Bladensburg Road, Northeast.

At approximately 2:37 am, members of the Fifth District responded to the listed location after hearing the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, 26-year-old Devante Alonzo Young, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Destruction of Property, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm.
