Please join us for a limited engagement of a unique exhibit organized by the Citizens Commission on Human Rights with vital information everyone needs to know about the mental health system.

This traveling exhibit was recently featured in the Exhibition Hall at the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference and has been displayed in major cities across the United States as well as abroad. This limited exhibit at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel will be from Friday through Sunday, January 12-14, 2018.

A panel will discuss the over-drugging of our children in what is called an “ADHD epidemic” with as many as 20% of teenage boys diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and over 4 million children in the U.S. prescribed ADHD drugs.

A free documentary film on how children and adults are diagnosed and labeled will be shown at 3 pm on January 12.

The exhibit will be open on Friday, January 12th and, Saturday, January 13th from 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM and on Sunday, January 14th from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.

There will be a special panel discussion on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Did you know an estimated 8 million children are prescribed psychiatric drugs, with more than 1 million under the age of 5, despite destructive side effects? Psychiatrists who prescribe these drugs can make up to 4 times as much as those who do not.

Did you know Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) or “shock treatment” is still in use today? An estimated 100,000 people per year receive ECT yet the safety and effectiveness of ECT has never been demonstrated. The American Psychiatric Association is also now pushing for the use of ECT on children despite a World Health Organization recommendation stating there is no indication for using ECT on children and it should be prohibited by law. Yet this is a $1.2 billion industry.

Find out more about what is happening with these practices and what you can do about it.

The exhibit will be open Friday to Sunday:
January 12, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
January 13, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM
January 14, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel
