Eating Out in Ward 5

Each year The DC Voice likes to remind our readers of the outdoor eating venues in Ward 5. “Eating Out in Ward 5”  was originally posted August 4, 2015. This summer has been less sweltering than 2015 and this past weekend was a washout as far as outdoor dining. Some restaurants have been dropped from the list and others have new owners and names. In any event, here is the 2018 version. We will be scouring the neighborhoods soon to capture any new venues!

Although scorching 90 plus degree days with stifling humidity don’t provide the most pleasing conditions for eating outside, there are a growing number of sidewalk and open air eating spots in Ward 5. They range from the more notables like Bus Boys and Poets, Pot Belly, and Union Market to hot spots ranging from A to Z (or at least “w”) like &Pizza, Aroi, Barnes & Noble, Boundary Stone, Brookland’s Finest, Brookland Pint, El Camino, MENOMALE, Public House, Showtime Lounge, and Windows Cafe and Market, and more.
