Come Walk With Councilmember McDuffie In the Emancipation Day Parade!

April 8th Emancipation Day commemorates the day when President Abraham Lincoln signed the Compensated Emancipation Act, freeing 3,185 enslaved persons in Washington, DC.

Come walk with Councilmember McDuffie and your Ward 5 neighbors as we celebrate this historic day

Parade is from 1-3 pm (the parade goes along Pennsylvania Avenue from 10th Street NW to Freedom Plaza)

Following the parade there will be a concert and, later that night, there will be fireworks.
